MARCH BREAK TOURNAMENT 3v3 Registration

Please sign up below with our form to register for the 3v3 tournament on March 13th 2025 8-12PM.

Richmond Hill Strike Over

Richmond Hill strike is over. We are back on the ice tomorrow. We will continue the schedule as is for now. 3 on 3 will be a go for sure. Please fill out the form on the website to ensure you are added to the draft.

We missed 5 games, potentially we could add 2 back for March Break, maybe have some make games on the odd Wednesday. Nothing is set in stone and the exec will deal with this in the new year.

Thanks for your patience. See everyone tomorrow night.

The Executive Team,

David’s McQuarrie Message: Thank You All

I want to thank the league from the bottom of my heart for the kind words and generous spirit shown towards me in the kindness of the donations I just received. Yes, I backed out at the end of last year’s season before the playoffs which I would never due but circumstances dictated I had no choice. When the guys found out about my cancer this year, it looked like the result was this generous donation which I am humbled and grateful to receive. More humbling is I had no idea that you guys were thinking about my well-being all without me knowing. That goes straight to the heart. Enough soft talk, on behalf of myself and my boys Andrew and Matthew, thank you so much, and Merry Christmas
David McQuarrie

Dave McQuarrie Fundraiser. Nov 21

This Thursday, tomorrow, is the fundraiser for Dave McQuarrie. Long time ref in the Oaks, over 30 years. Dave gave this league years and he always got what we were looking for in the style of hockey we were trying to play. For years Dave was the head referee and he made sure we had refs every game, that was not a paid position, he did it because he cared. Now he is not doing well and as a league we want to show him that we care and try to help him out. Give money to your reps on Thursday or into next week. We will be giving the money to Dave next weekend.

The Buck a Goal Challenge is still on, if you want to donate based on goals in a game or the entire night you can. You can donate a flat amount as well. I have pledged $2 for every goal scored tonight. The goal of this is not to blow out team 10-1, we still need to respect each other. Like in any other game, try to avoid blowouts, the goal is not to embarrass anyone. Have all the 10-8 games you want.

Wild Wing has also pledged a portion of the money spent tomorrow to the fundraiser. On Thursday head over to Wild Wing after the game and enjoy a beer, pop, wings or just hangout with your team and league members.

See everyone tomorrow night for a great night of hockey or at Wild Wings.

Thanks the Exec

2024-2025 ORMRHL Season Registration

Good day returning members and potential new members to the ORMRHL 42nd hockey season for 2024-2025. Registration will begin August 1st at noon. If you have already registered, you will need to register again as all registrations will be purged.

Registration will close for returning players on August 30th at 5pm.

There are a few things to keep in mind when registering this season:

1.       Attendance for 11pm games has historically been a problem, especially on Mondays. To ensure our members have a positive experience, there is an expectation to attend at least half of all the 11pm games, including Mondays.

2.       Player requests to play on the same team will be communicated to the reps but it is not guaranteed. This is a draft league, and it is not possible to accommodate all requests. Fathers and sons, brothers do get to play together if they choose to.

3.       As part of registration, all potential players will need to agree to the league code of conduct. This ensures all players understand the rules and expectations of the league during the season.

To register follow the link https://ormrhl.com/registration/

Returning players do get priority and new players will get open spots as they become available.

An acceptance email will go out August 31st-September 2nd. This email will include payment methods and payment deadline of September 6th, 2024.

ORMHL Executive

Championship Saturday

SCHEDULE FOR SATURDAY

Game 1: 12-1

Game 2: 1-2

B Championship: 2-3:30 at the latest

A Championship: After the flood of the B Championships

Banquet will start around 6pm.

Game 1 and 2 are regular games, no OT.

B Championship is 2-15 minute straight periods, followed by a flood and a 15 minute stop time 3rd.

A Championship is 3-15 minute stop time periods, a flood between 2nd and 3rd.

If we go to Overtime, it will be a 10 minute stop time or until there is 5 minutes left on the game’s ice time. B Game at 3:25PM and A Game at 4:55pm. Then we do a shootout. 3 shooters going at the same time. If still tied, continue shooting until a winner is decided, no repeat shooters unless you go through everyone.

IMPORTANT

Let’s keep the spirit of the league in mind even in the championship games. It is important to not let things get out of hand, this is a friendship league first. You are ultimately playing for a beer glass and bragging rights for a night. You may be playing with that guy you went to war with this season or playing against the guy sitting beside you this year.

Enjoy the banquet but remember we are still in the public arena. Do not bring drinks out into public areas. If you do bring something into your dressing room, make sure it leaves with you, nothing is left in the garbage. If you are going to drink, leave your car at the arena overnight and take Uber, taxi or public transit.
