Before You Register
- Team Requests
Requests to play with another player will be passed along to the team representatives; however, they cannot be guaranteed. ORMRHL is a draft league, and accommodating every request is not possible. Fathers and sons, as well as brothers, may choose to play together. - Code of Conduct
During registration, all players must agree to the league’s Code of Conduct. This helps ensure everyone understands the league’s rules, expectations, and commitment to sportsmanship throughout the season.
Returning players receive priority for available roster spots. New players will be offered positions as openings become available.

45 Years of ORMRHL – Celebrating David McQuarrie
As we celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Oak Ridges Men’s Recreational Hockey League, we want to recognize someone who has been a big part of our league for many of those years — David McQuarrie.
Dave has been a referee with the Oaks for more than 30 years, including many years as our head referee. He didn’t just show up to call games. Dave helped make sure we had officials every night, understood the kind of hockey we wanted to play, and gave countless hours of his own time because he genuinely cared about this league and the people in it.
Over the past couple of years, Dave has been battling cancer. Last season, our league came together to raise some money to help Dave and his family, and the response from our players was something we were incredibly proud of.
Through 45 years, the Oaks has always been about more than hockey. It’s about the people who show up year after year and become part of the league’s history.
Dave is certainly one of those people.
As we celebrate 45 years of ORMRHL hockey, we want to thank Dave for everything he has given to the league and let him know that everyone in the Oaks continues to be in his corner.

Big Congratulations to our 2026 Champions
🥇 A Division Champions: Dragons
The Dragons surged through the playoffs with a new roster that clicked at the right time. Same finals matchup, different ending. This year, they got it done.
🥇 B Division Champions: Eagles
The Eagles delivered when it mattered most to take the title. The Cobras’ run from dead last made it a battle and showed how fast momentum can shift.
Playoffs Begin March 9th, 2026

After the first round, the league will take a March Break pause, with games resuming the following week.
Our year-end banquet will take place on April 18th.

Registration is Open for 2025-2026!
ORMRHL’s 43rd hockey season for 2025-2026. Registration will open on August 1st at 10:00 AM. If you have already registered, you will need to register again as all registrations will be purged.
Registration will closed for returning players on August 28th at 5 PM.
If you would like to join next year. Be sure to register now and get on the waiting list. We give priority for next year on returning players and then waiting list!
There are a few things to keep in mind when registering this season:
- Attendance for 11 PM games has historically been a problem, especially on Mondays. To ensure our members have a positive experience, there is an expectation to attend half of all the 11 PM games, including Mondays.
- Player requests to play on the same team will be communicated to the reps but it is not guaranteed. This is a draft league, and it is not possible to accommodate all requests. Fathers and sons, brothers do get to play together if they choose to.
- As part of registration, all potential players will need to agree to the league code of conduct. This ensures all players understand the rules and expectations of the league during the season.
Returning players do get priority and new players will get open spots as they become available.

🥇 A Division Champions: Grizzlies
The Grizzlies battled through every round with grit and determination. Champions through and through.
🥇 B Division Champions: Rhinos
The Rhinos showed up ready to fight and didn’t back down. They outworked and outlasted the competition to take the B Division.
Thanks to all the teams for a great season — intense games, great sportsmanship, and an awesome turnout at the finals.
Championship Saturday – April 19
Good luck to everyone tomorrow! We’ve got a full day of action ahead and a few exciting updates to share.
This year, we’ve added something special for the bottom 4 teams — a mini 3-game tournament. The winners of each game will move on to play a second match at 1:00 PM. It’s a great way to close out the season with some extra competition and fun.

All games will be held at Bond Lake, same as always — no changes there.
However, please note the banquet location has changed this year due to early voting at the arena.
We’ll be gathering afterward at the Oak Ridges Community Centre:
